The second edition of Infusion Time is the latest educational resource offered by Hemophilia Health Services. Written by Diane Horbacz, M.Ed., the updated book keeps the fun, rhyming text and interactive tools to teach children about port infusion. Realistic illustrations by Susan Mordigal help families master the skills needed for home infusion.

“Infusion Time was my very first book, made with stickers and items from the local craft store. It began as a mother’s desire to teach her two boys with hemophilia how to lead life with confidence,” says Horbacz. Infusion Time became a stimulus for the Karing for Kids program which Horbacz directs. Each year, she travels the country offering educational workshops for all age groups.

Since 1998, Horbacz has written several books including My Brother is Getting a New Port, If You Wear a Medic Alert ®, Factor Fun, Living with Hemophilia 6-11 Years, and the companion book Infusion Time 2, which teaches families to infuse via venous access.
