Karing for Kids offers a wide variety of educational programs using age-appropriate concepts and unique teaching techniques. In addition, these programs enable parents to learn from their child’s perspective. Click on the program to learn more about our workshops:

Kids’ Workshops (2-hours), appropriate for ages 0–12

Families with children as young as infancy are strongly encouraged to attend.

Creative “hands-on” educational workshop developed specifically for parents and their children. The format of the Kids’ Workshop consists of two parts:

First, parents learn how children understand hemophilia at different ages and varying levels of understanding. The primary focus of the parent presentation is to exhibit how children learn through play. Parents are provided with inventive tools and unique strategies for teaching their children.

Second, parents and children come together to participate in interactive learning stations that facilitate learning about bleeding disorders. Parents will experience how readily doors to communication open through the educational practice of play.

Each family will receive an information folder containing valuable educational material.

Hemophilia Basics (45 minutes), appropriate for ages 0-6

Get ready, get set, and go! Learn about hemophilia through art, music, and gross motor activities. This program curriculum was designed to introduce basic hemophilia concepts to young children. Animated activities, such as mixing factor to music and factor fossils, captivate an audience of young learners as they explore fundamental information about their bleeding disorder.

Fitness and Exercise (1 hour), appropriate for ages 3-8

Bring the ants in your pants to Fitness and Exercise, where you will learn how to avoid the junk food feeling and keep your heart in shape through inventive exercise activities. Transform into a “Sergeant Stay-well” as you learn how to fight germs and stay healthy.

My Amazing Blood (45 minutes), appropriate for ages 7–10

Explore the circulatory system during a session of My Amazing Blood. The circulatory race, coagulation slime, and blood sundaes are a few of the activities designed to entice school-age children to learn about blood and bleeding disorders.

Junior Scientist (45 minutes), appropriate for ages 11-15

Advanced concepts such as chromosomes, DNA, and genetics are introduced to young teens through scientific experiments and unique teaching methods. Master the most advanced concepts about hemophilia as a Junior Scientist.
